Toronto, Ontario: The Women in Biz Network announces their 2nd annual conference, featuring Kimberley Seldon as keynote speaker. The WIBN’s 2012 national conference reinvents the S.M.a.R.T business acronym and kicks it up a notch with solid business skills women can use to get ahead in their careers.

Kimberley Seldon, a fierce Canadian entrepreneur who has devoted much of her career to mentoring female business leaders, will kick off the conference with a heart to heart discussion with 250 Canadian business women on the 10 essential business skills they don’t teach in school.

“I’m excited to present to this connected, ambitious group of women changing the Canadian business landscape,” says Kimberley. “Whether you’re an entrepreneur or work in a corporate environment, you need a plan to move you forward to where you want to be next month or next year. Wanting to be successful is only the first step – and the easiest.”

With a healthy dose of humor and strong business acumen, Kimberley will help attendees take control of their careers. Kimberley’s 10-step program to success isn’t a get-rich-quick scheme, but it brings success clearly into focus. And Kimberley’s bio points to her success as a Canadian entrepreneur.

Online communities, real life connections

Leigh Mitchell, president and founder of WIBN is thrilled to welcome Kimberley to discuss the sometimes frustrating and complex puzzles women face in their professional lives.

“When I launched WIBN in 2010, I wanted to provide a safe, nurturing environment for women in business to share ideas and grow their skill sets,” says Leigh. “Now in our second year, our members connect daily online, sharing information, resources and job opportunities. Our annual conference allows the very important person-to-person connections to grow stronger.”

The annual conference will also signal a new initiative for WIBN – mentoring. While the conference attracts digitally connected business women, mentoring will begin as a non-digital activity that organizers hope will carry over into the digital arena.

“More than a decade ago, I hired a professional business coach who mentored me through a rebuild of my design practice,” says Kimberley. “Although I felt empowered, I knew I was missing some fundamental skills required for running a business. I started ‘Business of Design’ as an opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the years.”

Tickets for WIBN’s conference will go on sale in early March and will be available online at http://womeninbiznetwork.com/. Headline sponsor for the event is Chevrolet Canada.

We look forward to hearing from you and sharing our excitement about this event.
