Speaker Applications

Extraordinary speakers with extraordinary ideas, please step forward

 
At WIBN, we’re on the lookout for smart, dynamic speakers who get excited about sharing BIG ideas at our conference on May 31 and June 1st, 2012. The WIBN Conference is our annual event to make a difference in the lives our members by unleashing new ideas and inspiring them with everything they need to make this year, their year. If you’d like to speak at our event, we want to hear from you.
 
Call for speakers closes March 10, 2012.
 
 
We’re looking for speakers who can:
 
  • Support the S.M.a.R.T. theme of our conference with a unique twist
  • Treat speaking in front of a new group like a first date – all your WOW skills ramped up
  • Transcend the stage and deliver strong “get it done” tactics
  • Incorporate a strong visual element into their talk
  • Share new ideas and skills
 
A few housekeeping details for your pitch.
 
  • Fine tune your pitch so we can easily understand what you’d like to share
  • Plan for 45 min – 1 hr with Q/A can be folded into that time
  • Think outside the box and pair up with someone else
  • Keep your pitch to 250 words or less – seriously
  • Links to videos of you speaking will give us a better understanding of you
  • We’re a start-up so as much as we’d love to pay you for your time, we can’t
 
Don’t forget to include a brief bio and links to your site and any social media channels that will help us get to know you better. We’re sure most of you get that speaking at our conference is about connecting and sharing – not selling – but it bears repeating.
 
Last year’s 2011 conference sold out 3 weeks before the event and was sponsored by national companies committed to supporting female entrepreneurs. Our conference this year is supported by many of the same brands and a few new ones – details coming. As well, our keynote speaker is charming, smart and may be the whole reason you attend – she’s committed to delivering excellence.
